Hope

Hello all

Hopefully once the initial rush to read this new installment has passed (loads read it quickly it seems) then I will shuffle past the 10,000 page reads.

Wow. When I first started this blog, I thought those that may cross my path may want to understand what I was about to save me the trouble of explaining things. I think I have achieved all I intended and more and thank you all for reading this. I hope it has been informative and helped you understand not just my journey but the trans community as a whole.

So where am I. House sale 2 collapsed to be followed within hours of sale no 3! I am hopeful (as always) that this will go through. A bit of work around the house hopefully has helped.

The wardrobe continues to expand. I am now 80/20 female / male with the latter only now tiding me over. I look at times now and notice I am wearing the same things all the time and some of my male stuff is looking well worn. Please understand that I dont want to spend money on buying male clothes anymore, so dont expect a sartorial upgrade whilst I run "him" down.

As for the future, the perception that women have more shoes than men is true. I used to survive on a rotation of say 5/6 pairs of shoes at most. I think I have a dozen now and just bought some more.

I was on the look out for some casual stuff. A pair of brand new rainbow coloured Converse for £10 thanks to Cheshire Oaks and a pair of red Nike boots are on their way to me. I had been looking for a pair of knee high boots in brown. I have a black pair and love them plus I have ankle boots in both black and brown so needed some knee highs. They arent cheap. Good pairs retail at over £100 and even the bargain stuff is £40+. However as one with bigger than average feet, I thank next for their "clearance" section. Not only has it provided me with tops and jeans at ridiculously cheap prices, but now 2 pairs of boots, yes 2 for combined price of £40. Girls if you have big ish feet I recommend them. 9's are a 43 and forgiving. Nice pair of brown slouch |(on trend i believe) and red suede.

Added a few tops, a make up bag and an umbrella. Purple hearts so can easily go "live" tomorrow if I had to.  Boy do I want to. The need to be me can be overpowering at times. So once I get my own place the delay will be very short.

In the interim I have a few things to get off my chest.

I have said before that you shouldn't read the mainstream press and take what they say as gospel about trans issues. Well the Daily Star published a story that Ian Huntley (yes that one - double child murder) was transitioning. Cue hand ringing and general any trans rhetoric and bile. This was then repeated across all tabloid press and embellished.

However this week slipped in a small corner of the paper was a total retraction. Entirely untrue. Yes people an absolute lie. Now why would a national newspaper want to ascribe the same to a lifer. Not going anywhere and a lie does not hinder or help him. Can only have been done as anti trans rhetoric and deliberately so.

Now in the past I have come across lies in the press that affected me personally. Fortunately that publication has largely been shunned locally. However the national press seems to have it in for the trans community. Your clicks on their websites and the links to their advertisers are driving this and paying for this hate.

Can I simply ask to not click of these links either to the website and /or their advertisers. I personally will be shunning any business that advertises with these publications and hope people follow., The press in recent times on a number of subjects have shown to be unethical. I think it is time it stops. I am a firm believer in the free press but lies serve no one.

It seems other hate is being well funded as well. Opposition to the changes to the GRA were expected but it seems religion may well be involved. There is some suggestion that certain UK groups are being funded by radical US religious groups. No idea if it is true but there appears to be a strong anti trans rhetoric coming from certain religious groups.

To me faith is an individual thing. I have my own faith and beliefs. They probably dont align with any specific religion. I simply believe to treat everyone fairly, dont judge and be kind. However the problems arise when people expect others to abide by their views. Respect them by all means but society works on the basis that no group should be treated differently and everyone is equal. I would question when a persons interpretation of an ancient text that had no idea how the 21st century would be, appears to discriminate against any group not just trans.

Please be tolerant of others and the trans community. We simply want to live as we believe we should have been from day one. We dont want favours or special treatment. We want to integrate and live. We are no threat and the so called risks apply equally to any group. The Equality Act ensures we don't get treated differently.

If you have any doubts about anything, speak to me, get to know me and what Amanda is about. I can assure you I am as normal as the next person.

Thanks as always for listening.

Amanda GH
