Superstar
Talk about a swift change. Compare the title of my last blog and this. However more of that later.
Firstly let's talk hormones and boobs. As part of my pre surgery preparations I was required to stop my oestrogen about four weeks beforehand. I had at that point been on hormones for about 21 months. You may recall I was also on testosterone suppression but that conveniently expired the week of my surgery.
I had been told that boob growth would max out at about 3 years so was in the midpoint but the key indicator was discomfort and when that stopped growth was likely to stop.
I was a bit concerned therefore that after stopping pre op the pain also stopped. I thought that was it and my mind turned to a boob job perhaps next year.
It is therefore with some relief having been back on hormones for 6 weeks that the aching has started to come back. Let's see where that takes me over the next year or so.
I mentioned last time that I had a bug and was getting over it. Turned out I wasn't and had a bad bout of food poisoning. My energy reserves were low after surgery and that just wiped me out. I've spent the last week trying slowly to get the energy levels back up but there is one thing I realised, this was a big bit of surgery and took a huge amount out of me.
So to the title. I've been over the last few years been keen to be vocal abouty journey and support my community. As a result I've done many a speech, presentation and Q&A.
In the last week I've done two. Usual audience demographic (lawyers and associated parties) but I as well as contributing to one also chaired it. New to me but really enjoyed the challenge.
It was with some surprise that later I was described on LinkedIn as #Transsuperstar !! I'll take that thanks lol
It was all about transgender awareness week. I've posted daily on LinkedIn so feel free to pop over and check it out. Loads of profile views and following has resulted. Feel very much on a high at the moment in terms of my profile.
Sunday is transgender day of remberance. This day should not exist but as it does it still shows what challenges remain. Perhaps take time out to understand why.
As I continue my rehabilitation I'm slowly getting out more so feel free to say hello and buy me a drink lol.
Amanda xx
