Hiccup

Hi there,

Well I reached a bit of a milestone on this blog recently. Twenty thousand page views!!! Wow!!! Okay so it's taken 4 years and I won't be up for any awards but it means a lot to me that you are taking time out to read about me. It's quite humbling and you have my deepest thanks.

The intention was always two fold. Keep people updated about me but also help educate generally about the trans community. As we start to open up society again I hope in the coming months I can get to see some of you in person and thank you for your support.

As those who are avid readers know, hormones are being swapped over with treatment. Breast formation continues well and is noticeable. I bought an A cup bra just to get a sense of how far I have gone and it's just a smidge off filling it properly. Felt strange wearing a bra without prosthetics but hopefully a taste of things to come.

Being a regular visitor to my chemist it's now got to the point where they know who I am. I suspect that there are not many 6ft transwomen in this part of Merseyside. It's good to build a rapport though and I thought I had the same with my GP practice.

The title of this blog suggess otherwise.

As normal I made my request for my prescription and this time my quarterly blood check. Latter was booked fine although I hate the same. I hope to find out shortly the outcome. However my whole treatment history had disappeared and it took 10 days and numerous calls to fix. As much as I appreciate the NHS such a mistake could be dangerous. Hopefully a small hiccup.

I mentioned in my last blog TDOV. My work presentation went well I think . Not as many as I hoped watching but there is still a need to educate and get the message out there. The following day I listened in on a few online presentations and learnt things myself. Never to old to do so.

With society reopened I had hoped to catch a few pride festivals over the summer but some local ones have been cancelled unfortunately. Some remain and I hope to get around a bit this year.

So I leave you writing this blog the day before the shop's reopen. Got a week off coming up. I wonder what I'll be doing. Making up for lost time obviously!!. There is only so much you can do online.

All being well I will be looking at booking a UK break soon as well. Not the planned year but we have all had to adapt.

I hope soon I get the chance to meet up with you personally.

Untill then be good, be safe but be you.

Amanda
